Book or website on how TBI systems work?

Is there a book, manual, website or ??? that explains the working for the TBI and computer system in detail? Explains how it all works and then maybe gets into trouble shooting?

I have read most of the posts on here and starting to get a grasp in general. But I would like to know more about how these work. And yes, have one of those annoying issues with mine.

There isn't much to the throttle body itself. It is basically a gas tank for the injectors with a built in pressure regulator.
I run a carb on my truck most of the time so I don't use the factory hard fuel lines.I use rubber hose and when I switch back to the TBI it doesn't matter which way you put the line in or the line out on the TBI.
The injectors regulate the fuel to the motor and the TBI lets the air in.

There's some basic info here. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/fuel-injection1.htm

The part that deal with sensors covers most of the 95 and earlier (OBDI) TBI sensors. 96 and up (OBDII) have a lot more but is basically the same principal.

Thanks for the replies, good links but not quite what I was looking for but it helps!

While I said TBI I guess I should have used the ECM? I really want to know how all the system works, not just the TBI.

I have a 1988 C1500 5.7L with T.B.I. By far, the best book that I have found to help me understand the Chevy T.B.I. system is the factory 1988 Fuel and Emissions Supplement to the 1988 C-K Service Manual. It's Chevy part # ST-375-88FE. It covers the ECM, all of the sensors and how it all works together. All of the "trouble codes" are listed and there are troubleshooting flow diagrams. I found a like new copy on e-bay for $10. Good luck!

Thank you! I was wondering if GM had something other than a service manual that walked your through the workings of the system.

Thanks for the links guys. Will be reading those really soon.

I have ( purchased with my '88 2500 5.7).. the main service manual plus the 2 supplemental manuals perfect shape.

But there is a TBI / carburetor shop in Tampa bay, w/a website that is pretty good. I'll look for it & let you know.
..............Here it is.... I bought a TBI from them.
