my 1980 k20 has the sticker in the glovebox and one of the options says federal emissions, does that mean i dont need the smog stuff to pass smog in california? ive heard of federal trucks here in california nd that they dont need normal smog stuff to pass smog if someone knows the answer thanks

Maybe someone can answer better but I believe that it was equipped with the standard emissions, not California emissions (ie could not be sold in california)

You still need all the smog equipment.

This I don't know about and we'll probably need some one from California to answer (depending on how long emissions testing is required, what original equipment must remain, etc).

From what i read california smog test anything 1976 and newer so your stuck keeping all the smog stuff on the truck.
