Re: Seat belts

When I contacted the 2 big seat belt restorers online, both said they cannot repair the original GM belts (that is, the retractors and lock mechanism.) They said they would sell me generic new belts. They will "restore" belts with oem fabric, stitching, buckles, etc. but will not do the mechanisms.

Re: Seat belts

Is it worth your safety?

Only thing i dont like is they dont have the gm insignia on them

Re: Seat belts

LMC just re-sells seatbeltplanet belts, you can buy the belts for about $75 each directly from seatbeltplanet.

Ssnake Oyl also restores our seat belts to original....it's a bit more money for the service but it's worth it for the original look. I honestly don't care about the look for my truck as it's my weekend/yard hauler. But I'm going to have the original belts from my Oldsmobile restored as they are really worn.

Tell me about it. I have 10,000 in a 800 dollar truck, and just spent another 6 grand on paint and all new accessories.

I bought only one seatbelt. Then later ill buy another.

Re: Seat belts

I bought the 110 inch version, the 20in fixed buckle is for bench seats and 8in or 12 sleeved is for buckets. The seat belt also clicks into the GM buckle just fine as well.

Re: Seat belts

What's the reason for a 110 and a 140....

Re: Seat belts

It's just the length of the belt.

X2. New seatbelts for a 3+3....... fagidaboutit. You can have a gambling habit cheaper. Plus they kind of suck. Dont fully retract after use, just retract about a third.

I'm waiting to hear back from that vender... I sent an email to SEAT BELT PLANET , evidently where LMC gets their belts from.... 250.oo / 275.00 with a sender lap belt..... HOLY CRAP....

Re: Seat belts

I got some from some people at a swap meet a few years back, the color matches very well and they have the GM in the pushbutton. You can try emailing them at jefferiescoolcarstuff@yahoo.com, or phone them at 620-867-2303, I know they were cheaper than a $100.

Re: Seat belts

i wouldnt buy the ones from lmc, they are a universal fit made for many different applications. It did not fit in my truck good at all, so i will be sending it back.

I got the after market ones from the vender on this page... She is just a vender, I understand and it's not her fault but these I got look terrible... The RED is R E D, HIDIOUS looking RED and the retractor is BLACK....and they are cheap looking... If they exchange them, I don't think they are going to honor the shipping cost, which is RIDICULOUS... Even if the fact that they are RED like I ordered, but the retractors are not suppose to be BLack, they are suppose to be RED as well

bigd65 05-22-2014 03:24 PM

Re: Seat belts

Oh my GOD, Im still talking to the vender and she is still arguing with the manufacter. These things are ugly and the retractors are not suppose to be black, I should have just paid the little bit more they cost through LMC instead of buying through the venders here. I guess I learned my leason

Re: Seat belts

Ok guys , I'm going to retract a statement I made. Sharon with Laid Back Recreations . She is a vender I spoke of on my previous reply. She is pretty Awsome. I wasn't happy with the selt belts because of the color and the black retractors. The manufacturers didn't want to help me out and wave the shipping fee to exchange them. She called me today and said the manufacturer sent me the all black ones and I had to ship the others back. She offered to pay for the shipping but I would not let her. It was me being unhappy with them and they agreed the black retractor ls were wrong. I have no problem paying for the return just didn't want to pay for the both.... Sharon your Awsome and thank you for your help

bojak 05-22-2014 09:57 PM

Re: Seat belts

I hope they retract, cuz mine sure don't. I would say that mine were absolutely disappointing. Especially for the expense. Not going to slam seatbelt planet as I believe there's to be about the norm for replacements but I would have paid more for quality as I still paid alot for not. I think what I am trying to say is that there is no real quality option available. Just my 2 cents.

Did you get them through the venders here ?
