84 GMC no headlights or tailights

I have an 84 GMC Sierra, base model no power windows or locks. I do not have a radio, just the most basic electrical system. The turn signals, and brake lights work, however the headlights, tail lights, and parking lights will not come on.

The truck has been apart for 8 years, the bed has been off, and I swapped to a newer alternator when I converted to serpentine belt. I have the Power Master harness adapter. I've checked all fuses, and grounds.

I just remembered the positive battery terminal bumped the core support and shorted. Would that be enough to fry the head light switch? Can I just run a jumper on the plug and test the lights that way?
