Drop member question
 

Well I have a original 75 2wd Blazer that the frame has been hit once and they tried to fix it before I bought it. Well they didn't do that great of a job and so I decided to buy a new frame to do the bag job. Plus doing the work off the body should make it a little easier..

Well here is the question.

I have a Suicide Doors drop member and it doesn't seem to directly match the bolts like it would for the 2wd frame. Does anyone with experience know if new holes have to be drilled or is there a trick to bolt the cross member to the 4wd frame?

don't bother with it sell the dropmember to me!!! lol I seen on another forum a guy did this same thing to a 4wd frame with a pb member but didn't say anything bout drilling holes or anything also I read the other day that pb has members for converting k5 from 4wd to 2wd don't knw how true it is but I knw I read it....but I don't see why you couldn't measure everything on your 2wd and transfer it to the 4wd and drills the holes for the dropmember etc or as I said you can sell it to me an buy a pb one haha

When you convert a 4wd to 2wd you have to measure and drill new holes in the frame regardless if your using a drop member or stock 2wd cross member. So just measure and drill new holes. And post pictures like crazy when you do!

Thanks that is what I wanted to know.. Wish I didn't have to go this route and could keep the stock frame since pretty much everything on the truck is original so not having the original frame kind of sucks.. but hey you gotta do what you have to do..

Could always cut out the bad section of the frame and weld in a doaner section from the 4wd to keep it semi original
