88-93 grille ?
I've got a 93 Cheyenne w/t with the single beam headlights. And can't find a replacement grille will the 88-93 silverado base model with single beams fit. I can get a new one cheap and it looks the same except its silver and the grates are tighter.

This is the style I have http://www.someotherplace.com/bb/inv/9470_01s.jpg And this is what I want to put on http://www.someotherplace.com/bb/inv/5758_01s.jpg |
Re: 88-93 grille ?
Not dodging your question, but your original grille is a common grille and easy to find.
http://www.classicparts.com/1994-98-.../#.U3OLxPldWSo If you have an aftermarket body parts place nearby (pretty much guaranteed), they sell them for dirt cheap. There are several places in the Raleigh area. But, your local body shops absolutely get them from somewhere. In the past, I have had a local shop order my parts along with their normal order for free shipping from the warehouse. Most body shops gets frequent deliveries from the aftermarket supplies. |
Re: 88-93 grille ?
No. That grille is for the 94-98 and is different than mine. The 88-93 w/t version isn't being made anymore. lmc truck has oe left over but at
$320. And I'm not gonna find anything decent at junk yard. However the standard silver is being made and I ordered one from amazon for 74$ just want to know if it will fit. |
Re: 88-93 grille ?
My mistake. I read your question wrong so my initial response isn't on point.
Back on track, did you research to see if the same corner lights and turn signal lights fits both applications ? That would point to it being a straight swap. |
Re: 88-93 grille ?
I like the 94-98 grille I can't find anything about if it's the same lights or not they look alike but read somewhere that the filler panels are different and something about the bumper mount needed modified. Idk. If anyone has input about it that would be great. I would think that they all would bolt on and be the same size but I didn't want to chance anything.

Re: 88-93 grille ?
Lmc does list the same head light. park light and side reflector for all single headlight grilles. But can't find any info on the filler panels.

You don't need to modify the bumper mounts. You need the 2 inner bumper mounts for the late grille. They push the bumper out slightly to allow the filler panels to fit. You do also need all 3 new filler panels; the main center section as well as the 2 smaller ends behind the bumper corners. |
Re: 88-93 grille ?
You must be confused with the composite headlight grille cause everything on lmc shows the same reflectors and lights. For the single beam grille. Also I've been told the bumper doesn't need modified. I did get the bottom filler panel but don't see yet why I need the slide fillers. From pics I've seen you the grille fits so tight against the fender you can't see the fillers. If I'm wrong about that someone let me know and il get them also.

Re: 88-93 grille ?
Sorry. I don't know how I got it in my head you were changing to composites. So yeah, lights are unchanged for all the W/T grilles. I can't speak positively on the fillers for these grilles, though.

Re: 88-93 grille ?
I found side fillers for $15 so I went ahead and got them. Didn't want to get into it and have to order them anyway. Now I'm just hoping the bow ties are all the same. But the more I look at the black and red sport one the more I like it. Lol.

Re: 88-93 grille ?
Last year I replaced my high-mileage ( nicks & chips)... grill with a copy replacement identical to my original. As I was shopping, the local Chevy dealership showed me GM is dumping your original base model grill for a hundred bucks / or less. GM had a bunch in stock.

Re: 88-93 grille ?
Everything went on with no issues all the upper mounts lined up but the bottom filler needed to be drilled. Into the rad support. All in all it looks great glad I didn't get the ugly egg grate one. All that was needed was the newer lower filler panel and side filler panel. Got everything new from ebay.
