Need pics
Ok guys, I need some pics of the fuel line routing from the carb to the fuel pump. I changing over to stainless braided line this weekend and not quite sure of how I want to route it. BTW I'm using a Edel 600 carb with the chrome fuel inlet and Russell filter.

This is the best I have right now.
http://www.73-87.com/photos/engine/fuelline.jpg With my smog pump, it made it harder for me to route it down behind everything. I made some line clamps out of some stainless sheet metal I had laying around. You could buy some of the pre made ones too. I put one down beside the smog pump, and one a little higher up. Just make sure it's not rubbing on anything or too close to the pulleys/belts. Don't make any drastic bends in the hose. Use angled fittings to make sharp turns. I would get you some more pics, but I don't feel the need to take everything off the front of the engine so I can see it. :D |
Mike , i redid my fuel line yesterday. i was gonna run the line down the front of the block as you did bu was kinda afraid of the heat. i also would have the problem of the AIR PUMP. the pump is not there but the part of the serpentine brace is there. i will probably be putting the AIR PUMP on next year when it wont pass the new emmisions here. anyway my concern was heat and i would have had to run it behind the water pump and down the siide on the timing cover. is that cool, it dont get hot enough back there to worry ?

Jeff,
I figured if it worked with the factory steel line, it would work with the stainless braided hose. Mine is real close to being exactly where the steel line was. I've had no problems with mine so far. It looks neat and in place. I didn't want the hoses strung out over the top of stuff, like it would have been on the outside. I've got enough hoses laying everywhere as it is. :) |

Has anyone ever used the tubing to hose adapters? I cannot get mine to hold, it keeps sliding off.

Yeah, I tied into the hard tubing at the frame before it goes into the stock mech pump. I am using a Holley elec pump and do not have a mech pump. Everything went on pretty good. As soon as I get my camera back from my sister, I will get some pics and post.

Oh, gotcha. I was thinking mechanical pump.

I ran a braided line the same as the factory line with no problems so far. But I plan to change it back to a factory type line, but I plan to bend it myself.
