Fuel pump in 2001 Blazer

Anyone here have any tips on replacing a fuel pump & new lines on a 2001 blazer 2 door 4x4 4.3 liter. Lines are rusted & leaking & gas gauge is intermitent....have been told the fuel pump will fail shortly (120000 miles)

making new lines will be tough without the tool to fabricate the ends. Dorman has parts to piece together a system but it will be bulky with plenty of connections. just waiting to leak if you're not carefull. The gauge sender is available seperately but at that many miles it may be a good idea to do it all at once. After you're all said and done you should clear the codes to get rid of the P0463. Spray the tank strap hardware with penetrant for a few days before removing the tank.

Re: Fuel pump in 2001 Blazer

Thanks....did the job last week without too many problems. I bought a new set of fuel & return lines from a company called "Lines to go" that were made to fit my 2dr. blazer 4x4...about $100...money well spent in my opinion.
Had to bend the lines a little to get around the rear crossmember, but worked out well. Hardest part was getting the old rusted push-pull connectors off the flex lines going to the pump. No leaks after running her for over a week.
