Rearview Mirror Arm Hole Template for Drilling

My truck did not come with a factory rear view mirror. I bought a bracket from classic parts and now I just need to drill into the roof skin. Question is: does anyone have a factory measurement to the screw holes?

Is there dimples like the ones for the optional passenger side sun visor?

Just be careful when drilling. A couple of 1/4x20 nuts (or something similar) on the drill bit will insure you don't go too deep and hit the outer skin.

I guess they figured the 4 wheel drive models didn't need a rear view mirror

Is this style mirror for GMC's only or... a certain year model run?

Thanks.
