250 inline six question

I'm thinking bout building my 250 inline six in my truck. I have a 350 I wanting to build for it. But till I get it build I want to beaf up the 250. I want to port and polish the head put a comp cam 260h in it and put a intake on it an 4 barrel carb. Plus headers Have anyone use the flow tect headers and can they bolt right up with my stock intake.

I am about to j but all the same headers on mine. I am told the stock intake will work as the exhaust manifold is bolted to it. flowtech are at a good price. Should be starting on mine in v about a week.

I have a 292 L6, but went about that same route: Edel-1404 [500 CFM] Offy intake, Clifford headers -- Badger pistons at .030 over, Crane 260H cam, intake valves for the 307 V8 (1.84"), Pertronix Ignitor II distributor.
I didn't do much more to the head than the bigger intake valves, but Larry Page [Twisted6 on this forum] is an expert on the Lump Port modification.
Once you get your L6 set up right, you may think twice about adding the extra weight of a V8.

You can do it for fun, you can do it to be different, but don't do it to be fast. You could bolt twin turbos onto one of our L6s and they'd still run 18 in the quarter :-)

I had a buddy with a 65 Chevy Van that built the 6 in it. The only scary part was it'd get up to about 240F and he'd open the engine cover (between the seats!) to help cool it as we drove. I was ready at any time for an instant scalding - not something I'd do now!

Which brings me to my point: don't wreck your driveability in pursuit of speed, because you won't get speed, so keep the driveability. It can still look cool though!

Not after speed. After the cool look. I always wanted a 6 with duals and headers. Just ordered the headers. After multiple carbs now. Thought about 3 ones but don't know about sync ing them.

Does anyone have a picture of flowtech headers installed on a 250 6cyl??
