Re: My 67 SWB BoostedC10 (LQ4 S475)
Cab floor, outer rockers and cab corners were in pretty bad shape but not a big surprise in these norther trucks.

Re: My 67 SWB BoostedC10 (LQ4 S475)
Previous owner had also cut a hole in the bed for a fuel cell so the decision was made to go with a black walnut wood floor. It will be fully raised to clear the notch in the new rear suspension.

Re: My 67 SWB BoostedC10 (LQ4 S475)
Got the chassis stripped down and ready for the Suicide Door Triangulated 4 Link. Just a note this was long before Nate had his rear kit :) http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640...0/836/hq13.jpg

Re: My 67 SWB BoostedC10 (LQ4 S475)
Next up on the list of to do's was to get the frame filled and sand blasted, then get a fresh coat of paint on it.

Re: My 67 SWB BoostedC10 (LQ4 S475)
I had all the chassis bolt-ons powercoated grey. This will be the same gray that will be used on all the bright work on the truck. (Bumpers, door handles and so on)

Re: My 67 SWB BoostedC10 (LQ4 S475)
I know that **** Storm all too well. Caught up in one of my own.
It looks like it's coming along good, and I love the fact your doing it with your Son. My boy is right along side me working on mine and My girl is now old enough to Ask Why?, Why?,Why?,Why?,Why?,Why?,Why?,:lol: Good luck and I look forward to seeing it come together! Subscribed! |
Re: My 67 SWB BoostedC10 (LQ4 S475)

Re: My 67 SWB BoostedC10 (LQ4 S475)
Thanks guys. A ton more pictures soon.
So.Cal.Super I would say the kids make a build that much more special for sure! |
Re: My 67 SWB BoostedC10 (LQ4 S475)
I will be running a 6.0l LQ4 stock bottom, 317 heads, cam, and the S475 through a 4l80e. Goal is around 700 at the tires.
Here is the "Little" turbo http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640...0/856/abtq.jpg And a shot of the 6.0l I just picked up. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640...0/853/8elo.jpg |
Re: My 67 SWB BoostedC10 (LQ4 S475)
Looks good!
Also looks like we're going about the same place with our builds other than I will still have a stock rear clip/no raised bed floor. |
Re: My 67 SWB BoostedC10 (LQ4 S475)
Should be amazing.

Re: My 67 SWB BoostedC10 (LQ4 S475)

Re: My 67 SWB BoostedC10 (LQ4 S475)
Here is the cab after it was sandblasted and put in epoxy.
Working on the cab corners, floor and rockers now. Hope to have the metal work finished up in the next few weeks. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640...0/845/pzw3.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640...0/842/hf6v.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640...0/845/sv6k.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640...0/838/qk7b.jpg |
Re: My 67 SWB BoostedC10 (LQ4 S475)
Also ordered the CPP big brake kit for the front and rear. Put the fronts on to see how they fit before tearing them down for powder coat. Shortly after the tear down I scored 4 brembo 4 piston calipers so I may swap the CPP calipers out to get the stopping power.
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640...0/855/hyhv.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640...0/853/76us.jpg And a pic of my boy tearing them down :) http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640...0/820/d8kt.jpg |
Re: My 67 SWB BoostedC10 (LQ4 S475)
Had a good friend of mine that is a fabricator build me a aluminum fuel tank to house my A1000.
He thought it was funny to show me after it was done that the pass throughs in the baffles were little penises! Got to love my friends! http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640...0/849/mywg.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640...0/855/3cb3.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640...0/829/0cr2.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640...0/829/qap5.jpg |
Re: My 67 SWB BoostedC10 (LQ4 S475)
Made some progress today and got the cab floor out. It was fairly simple just had to brace the cab a bit and go to town with a spot weld cutter. Now, while it is out i need to replace some rot on the inner kick panels and replace the lower end on the "a" and "b" pillar along with the cab corners.

Re: My 67 SWB BoostedC10 (LQ4 S475)
Also got lucky and found a Savanah van in a you pull it yard with a 4l80e. An hour of mine and a buddys time with hand tools and she was out with all the parts needed.
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640...745/341d0f.jpg I will start tearing it down to rebuild it next week. It will get an HD2 shift kit with a complete trans-go rebuild kit and a single disc 10" 3400 stall converter I am having built. |
Re: My 67 SWB BoostedC10 (LQ4 S475)

Re: My 67 SWB BoostedC10 (LQ4 S475)
