rim backspacing questions

I have a set of stock 16x7 rims om my 89 GMC 4x4 with some 33x9.5's and I have rubbing on the inside wall of the tires against the front of the bottom a-arms. My two questions are: what is the backspacing on my stock rims; and Will a set of 15x10 rims with 4" of backspacing and a set of either 35x12.5 or a set of 35x14.5 mudders do the same thing?
