cleaning fuel tank
ok im getting trash into my carb filter. what is the best way to clean it out. what all has to be done?

As cheap as aftermarket tanks are, I don't think I would ever mess with trying to derust or decrud a stock one.

Possible sources include a failing fuel pump, rusty metal gas line, rotted rubber gas line - especially the often forgotten suction lines, and crap in the gas tank. If you have crap in the gas tank, you will need to empty the tank, drop it and do a visual inspection to see if the tank itself is rusty or you just got a batch of gas with crap in it.
The cheapest place to start is to replace all the rubber gas lines and see if the crap quits showing up in the filter. |

may be holes in places you can't see from below...
like mine,damp and vapours when looking over top... new hoses are a good start |
