Looking for deluxe steering wheel part

Looking for the small plate that holds the horn contact insulator. Its the part in the top left of this pic. The plastic insulator (bottom left) fits into it and then the horn ring goes over it.

The contact insulator is, but I'm unsure on the retainer. I have found several places that sell parts for the deluxe wheels, but no retainers yet.

Yeah, no caps for 64-66. I found 2 61-63 caps for the 3/4 ton, driver condition.

That works. Just let me know what you want and we'll subtract the difference from the seat cover.

the only difference is the oem piece is indexed to line up the plastic piece, so you can have the whole setup, im sure the aftermarket will work fine and im only "oem" anal on somethings... PM me ur shipping info and ur paypal stuff. ps what do i owe you?

Re: Looking for deluxe steering wheel part

For the deluxe wheel or standard?

For the deluxe if looking at the pic in post #13 from wheel to horn
steering wheel
install the spring contact for the horn into the wheel.
1.) the silver disk with the 3 holes
2.) the round plastic disc with the 3 holes punch out of the edge (insulator)
horn trim ring
3.) the black serrated metal disk
4.) the round plastic disk with the 3 holes the screws go through. This will screw everything to the wheel.
Then the washer and nut attach.
Then the horn cap will cover all of this up and mount w/2 screws from the back of the wheel. The cancel cam attaches to the bottom of the wheel.

Re: Looking for deluxe steering wheel part

Standard wheel doesn't use the insulator....its the cup style that the cap fits into.

hmmm....let me check. I know I have a nice center section, but I don't think I have an extra horn ring. They seem to pit worse than the caps due to being cast. I'll keep my eyes peeled though.

No its not NOS, but is OEM. Is that one painted? I have seem some that were and some that weren't.

Heres a pic of my two wheels. I have the OEM green cap that came off the right wheel. Left wheel is 100% original. I have an all chrome cap on the left wheel. Let me see if I have better pics

Here you go Pimpston65. Like I said in the last post....the OEM green cap off the green wheel I have extra. I had a real nice OEM all chrome cap that I thought looked better.

Bad thing is I have a NOS standard cap still in the box and 2 standard wheels to get rid of now. I've already done the crack work and painted on wheel, so I may just hang onto it and the NOS cap.

And I think I have an old 63 antennae....might need some work. I know its different than the 65's, but would work until you found a correct one. I'll look tonight.

1963c-10 07-24-2014 10:37 AM

Re: Looking for deluxe steering wheel part

You mean the fawn center cap? Or the whole wheel? I'm going to repaint the wheel anyways....if you want to swap center caps and they are the same condition I'm ok with that. I can get a close up pic tonight for you of the fawn center cap.
