anyone restoring an original bed??

I'd like to collect enough original bed wood to do my shortbed if anyone has a few usable pieces lying around. Figure with all the pretty beds around here that old wood must be somewhere (hopefully not ashes in the fireplace)
Thanks

Are you just wanted that old look...cause you can get new bed wood for these..and its made to look stock and uses the original hold down strips.

Nah, I won't "real" old wood.
I'll do faux job on it if I can't find original but would prefer the real thing. Thanks

if you dont find enough this way, try looking into reclaimed wood. there are many companies that do things like disassemble old barns, houses, other buildings, fences, and such and then sell the "reclaimed" wood. My aunt has a "new" hardwood floor made from planks from a 200 year old barn that was torn down.

I think I have a couple laying around but shipping would be expensive.

more than happy to pay shipping. New boards, old boards shipping is shipping :)

Awesome! I see one or two that might be good and a couple to cut down for the sides... and I can jump start the new bed fund for ya.
Now if I can get 10 more guys to contribute I may get a whole shortbed out of this :) Thanks.

I'll see what I have. They have been laying in the weeds since last year. lol I saw them yesterday. I think all I have that is complete is one that would bbe the second one in that goes under the wheel well and maybe a couple that are the short ones that are furthest on the outside.
