Anybody running 20's? Have some ?'s....

I'm considering dropping some AR Torq Thrust 20x10's out back and some 20x8's up front on the 83 and wondering what you guys are running for backspacing. I know I need to pull my wheels and take some measuresment but so far I've only found backspace numbers for smaller wheels.

Thanks, Cameron

20x8 w/5" BS & 20x10 w/5" BS would work pretty good. I've got 18x8's up front w/5.25 on my 74 just to suck in the track width a little more.

Excellent! Do you happen to have a shot going down the side of the truck? I'd like to see how they sit because the 83 is fully bagged and I just need to make sure they'll tuck.

Thanks for the pic.

Tucking isn't a problem.

Cameron,
The Black one is N2TRUX on 20's. Tucking won't be an issue. And SCOTI's looks wicked in person too.

I am running a 20x8 with 4.5" backspacing on the front and 20x9.5 with 5.5" in the rear no problems tucking at all.

4.5 inch backspace on the front 20x8
5 inch backspace on the rear 20x9.5

my truck needs to be bagged. but the weels/tires tuck nice as is

Low83 08-07-2003 03:25 PM

Low87 your ride is CHERRY, chrome on black paint is just a classic look, any more Pics?

Low87on20s 08-07-2003 03:53 PM

Not any like that. Only the original look. The truck is in the first stages of smoothing out the body...filling the holes, stake pockets, smooth tail gate, etc.. Once it is done and painted, then comes the bags. I will take pictures as the progress continues and post them.

That is a nice truck, but that color dos not look good IMO. Too 80's bright and monochrome.

Wheres the engine in that truck? I like the color. I dont like the painted bumper though. Could I have a grille like that on my 78?

The engine is prolly fuel injected. Im guessing an LS1.

Actually it's an LT1. That the problem with putting GM factory injected motors in our trucks. They dissappear under the hood. The TPI motor is the tallest, but that been done to death. The LT1 and LS1 are even shorter, so the really get swallowed.

That's why I had to raise my LS1 up quit a few inches. It looks much better now, but I am still considering the Magnussen "Magna Charger" for it....

I agree w/you Ken. I think the sm.blk. ram jet would look pretty decent under 73-up hoods (b.blk would be even better  ).

Actually I would like one of these...

N2TRUX 08-08-2003 11:31 PM

But, since that is a LITTLE out of my budget, I may have to "settle" for this...
