2004 A/C heat blend door

Pulled the actuator, the blend door moves freely by hand, (doesn't change where the air goes though). Air is stuck coming out of defrost vents, cool on driver side and hot on passenger side. With the actuator plugged in, it does not move when you change any setting. Anybody have any ideas what my problem might be? A/C comp does run, fuses look good.

Is there only 1 actuator? (found the 1 under dash on pass side)

Re: 2004 A/C heat blend door

Just went through this with my 05 Ecsb. If you have dual zone heat and a\c. The blend door actuator for the right side temp is located on top of the air box under the dash. You need to remove the top dash pad and air bag to access it. Its a bit of a chore but it beats paying the dealer ship. The blend door for the defrost and vents is located on the left side right above the gas pedal. If you crawl under the left side you can see it with a flashlight. Have someone move the selection switch vrom vent to floor and defrost and see if the acctuator moves.
In total these trucks have 4 acctauators for the climate controls. Hope this helps.

Blend door actuator

I know this 67-72 side but need help with my 2004 gmc 2500 sierra, air will only blow out the defrost vents and its hot, no matter what i do or change nothing works. I have read a lot and people say the blend door actuators are bad, is there any way to check them before spending money on new ones? Any help would be great. Thanks.
