rear a/c idea for panel
My 69 panel is finally getting a little attention. I have a95 astro van we are talking about junking. It has rear a/c in it.I'm thinking it migh5t work in rear of panel. Measured it and looks to be close and shallow enough to mount to roof and not protrude into rear door opening.Running line looks(key word) to be pretty simple. Astro even has new cpmpressor I can salvalge along with few other parts.
Yea I can be cheap, well except on race car thats why Im cheap every where else. Is there any reason this would not work? If I can work this out I can get a/c front and rear fairly cheap(lmao at that). |
Re: rear a/c idea for panel

Re: rear a/c idea for panel
Factory Astro Van dash air is half inside and half outside the firewall as it is in most GM cars and trucks up until 88 c series trucks moved the evap case totally inside.....
The rear air unit should work fine for you......I hung a rear air from an 86 burb in the back of my 67 and even the shrouding fits like it was made for the 67.... |

How'd it work?

Re: rear a/c idea for panel
mounting ac went fine the cover was to narrow.Going to make a custom one out of fiberglass as soon as I get console design done.Going to do fiberglass work on both at same time. One big mess to cleanup instead of two. Having to get lines madeup since rear of panel is lot further back than the astro, plus going to get vintage air for front and not sure about tie in till I get all of the pieces.Man If I could have been born rich instead of so good looking.
