Center Console

Anyone built a center console for our trucks. Did some research, but didn't see any thing for our gen. Took 80's bench seat out, replacing it with a couple of used sport seats. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Other than your aftermarket lock-box style ones, probably not.

Thanks BR3W CITY for the reply and pics!

Suzq044,

Been looking at some of the stuff offered in the online catalogs. Haven't found anything I like yet.

You could also consider center consoles out of later model chevy trucks.

Re: Center Console

Slowbuild,

Thinking about that also, like the mid 2000's seat/consoles out of the Silverado/Tahoes.

It has provisions for a single bolt that comes through the floor like a studd, and we can use a pin or nut to hold it in place....truthfully tho, we usually don't.

The weight of it w/stereo, its snug-fit location between the seats and back wall, and its shape (it straddles the hump about 3/4") all hold it in place REALLY well, and it removes quickly for racing. We don't run with it in, as it comes out in about 4 seconds and saves us ~30lbs

Well bud i'm still adjusting on the suicide doors to get square and reliable. Right now I need my transmission rebuilt or just buy one. I also need a new radiator.

I sure as heck wouldn't have posted detailed photos of the build process if I did! lol Ideas are free, you just gotta build it yourself :metal:
