Frame lengths
Hey everyone I'm new to the site,
I picked up a1963 chev suburban. Just wonder if the frame from the suburban Is the same length as a swb or lwb. From what I measured seems to be Swb. Thanks in advance. I'm also trying to Post picture but not having luck. |

Re: Frame lengths
Yeah I'm pretty sure that the swb is the same as the c10 burb/panel. 115" wheelbase.
Not to hijack the thread but a quick simi related frame question. Is there a difference between the 1/2 ton and 1 ton frames? Not suspension but frame itself. I'm a little concerned now that I found a 1/2 ton frame from a 63 P/U under my 60 1 ton panel. It does have the 1 ton suspension but I'm curios to know if there was a physical difference between the actual frames |
Re: Frame lengths
I used a long bed frame and cut it down to the 115" short bed length and used it on my suburban and it worked without any problems. reason was I had already modified my truck frame with air ride stuff and a new cross member so it was easier to swap it than start over. it is on my build thread with pictures.

Re: Frame lengths
The wheelbase is the same. Although the back part from the wheel to the rear bumper is slightly longer of about 4" to 6". I can measure it after work later today if you'd like.
