Rust prevention

It's been nice and dry here so it was time for my annual coating of the underside of my 97 with oil. Parked it on the plastic, removed the wheels, wrapped the hubs with garbage bags, sprayed a good half gallon of oil on the bottom of the truck while laying on a creeper. Let it drip overnight and took it up to a dirt road where I could do donuts in the dirt. I found that the dust sticks to the oil and makes it stay on longer. I've been doing this at least every two years since buying the truck new in February of 1997. So far the only rust I've had on the truck is every single brake line and the bottom of the drivers door.

Oh the last step was to throw away the clothes I was wearing.

That is a nice truck you have!!! How many miles on her now? My granddad bought my 89 brand new off the showroom floor just as you an gave it to me back in 05 shortly before his passing. Fortunately my truck is a southern truck but had its paint sunbaked though. Its been repainted but the old oil an dirt road rust prevention is cheap easy an good to save the truck. Mine even though the south has no snow had already lotsss of that good ole southern red clay dirt underneath haha.
