WTT tailgate for aluminum grill
 

I have this very nice fleetside tailgate that I would like to trade for a nice aluminum grill. It doesn't need to be polished all up, just straight and undamaged. The tailgate has only a very little surface rust and no pitting. There are 2 small dents on the bottom and a small ding on the front by the L. I bought and intended on using this tailgate but I recently found another so this one has to go. Only interested in trades.

hmmmmmm, let me see what shipping would be, it's little better than I one I was going to use.
I have a decent aluminum grill I got local, give me a day to think and check, if somebody else comes along DO NOT wait for me. A want not a need

can someone tell me why so many people want original trim and grilles. aluminum grills that is. I have all the original trim off my 65 custom cab but it all needs polished. wouldnt repop look better?

I do have a original aluminum grille in very good cond. one very slight easy ding. but my tail gate is perfect. bought the truck from the original owner in ne portland and he took very good care of it. very very straight. I paid a premium but saved many many hours of bodywork.

i dont think they repop aluminum grills, and oem fit much better...

I am talking about repop trim,sails ect.

The orig. Alum grills will never polish like the repop chrome grills.
But what is the longevity of repop stuff.

there's nothing wrong with repop stuff at all, I think it looks great but sometimes maybe a little to good if you are trying to match a certain level of patina that your truck already has.
And reproduction parts are sometimes just a bit to shiny to match

Sure they will......Its aluminum....will polish out like anything else with the right time and materials.

Most of the repop stuff does not have the same attention to detail. Most guys go to the repop stuff since its new in a bag instead or restoring or rebuilding their old parts. I'll take oem/nos any day over repop.

I agree with you, 63C10, there's a look I'm going for with the aluminum that isn't going to work with chrome even though a nice chrome grill looks fantastic.
I'm still looking to trade the tailgate for a nice aluminum grill. It doesn't need to be all shined up, just straight.

Nobody seems to want to trade so I will sell it for $300. Local pick up only and it will be at my garage sale this weekend.

give me a couple days, ill get some pics of my aluminum grille, it got painted silver 7-8 yrs. ago, it is missing them aluminum headlight bezels, but have some others on it! like I said give me a couple days and ill get you some pics of the grille, and if you want ill get some paint thinner on it to proof its aluminum! so if you want it I will need some headlight bucket brackets to bolt to my c-50/c-60 grille I have! I really didn't want to sell it but I pretty sure its straight, an not dented! what does the other tailgate you have look like? the one off your truck, are you wanting to sell it too

never mind I just liked at mine a lil better an its got some nicks, an small dents on the back side of the taps, an a couple dents along the bottom side of the grille! all minor compared to what I have seen out there! there is a 1/8th or 1/16th. crack on the backside of the headlight, caused by a dent on the bottom! anyways ill get some pics up in a min., but will get more if you want them

New price on tailgate. I would still like to trade for a 64-66 aluminum grill but I will sell the tailgate for $250. Firm on the price at this point and I prefer not to ship.
