Brake lines
 

Does anyone have any pics of how to connect front/rear brake lines below the master cylinder on 1971 with power disk brakes?

On the prop valve, front line goes to the back and rear line goes to front. Atleast that's what I read on here and that's how I installed mine today.

Thanks any chance you could post a pic. Confused how the lines should look at the frame where they all come together.

I don't have any pics. I just ran my new lines wherever I could fit them where they didn't get in the way or rub on anything.

Well, after looking again, I guess I did it wrong. Now Im reading that the front is the front and the rear is the rear. After all the reading I did about this before installing, I decided to search again and am now seeing that I was wrong. So looks like I have to redo what I just did. I hate the internet sometimes. :(

I came out of the front rubber brake hoses and then ran them to front of frame across front rail close to center then into a t-block, then out of the top of the T to the front position on the prop valve. Then the rear came off the rubber hose from rear end to frame and up pass side frame around front then up to rear position of prop valve.........hope this helps

Could you get a shore where the MC lines connect to the front and rear line.
I am confused how the T works and how to connect the rear brake line.

Did you add disk brakes? Are you trying to run new lines,original drum brake lines or original lines from a 71-72 c10?
Original drum lines wont work.
Original 71-72 lines route the same way as a 67-70 along the crossmember except that the front brakes lines are rerouted thru the motor mounts and connect to the rubber lines at the front of the control arm instead of the rear of the control arm. The 71-72 rear line will screw in directly to the rear line mounted to the passenger frame.
Thefront brake line screws to the underside of the 71-72 prop valve and the rear line screws to the back of the valve

I have original power disk brakes (4x4). I am running all new lines from rear to front. New line is in to right side of crossmember.

I am just not sure of the connection from the new lines from the rear and the new lines for the fron to the lines that come down from the master cylinder.

From the MC they drop down under the frame and run across the bottom of the cross member and then t off next to the frame rail between the two front lines and one rear line. You can look through my build not all sure what shots I have in there.

From the proportioning valve, the front line goes to the frame rail and connects to a TEE, then to each front brake.
The rear line goes to the same place on the frame rail and connects to a union. From the union, the rear brake line follows the front passenger line across the engine cross member (behind it) to the passenger frame rail and goes toward the back of the truck. There's another union near the firewall where the cross member line and passenger frame rail line connect. once it gets to the rear axle, there's a flex line that connects the hard line to a tee, then splits to either brake.

Thanks. I have the service manual and saw the diagram. Having trouble as I have new lines from inline tube and cannot find a union to join the two male ends for rear brake also I was hoping for a neat install method for the union and tee.
