65 c10 - 2001 camaro suspension conversion

I need some help. I have a father-son build that we're trying to get started, ground up... 1965 chevy short bed. I have an opportunity to pick up the front suspension and rear-end off of a 1999 camaro (4th gen) for $700 total. I would like to make this happen, but I'm wondering if anyone has done this type of conversion before. Is this a bad idea? I'm looking for some advice. Anything helps.

You're not going to gain anything by trying to graft the Camaro stuff on there. The front suspension is a totally different design (short/long arm), and the rear is much weaker (and narrower) than the rear you have. I would put the money towards a front crossmember swap from a 73-87 truck. You'll gain front discs and a front sway bar. Lots of info on the forum here about that swap.

For less than $700 you can buy an entire '73-'87, use everything you want off of it, and part out and/or scrap the rest to get your money back.
