Want to trade gas tanks in SoCal

Hi,

i have a factory gas tank that I was going to put in my 72 c10 project. I was searching the forum to see how to install it when I figured out I didn't have the correct tank. Apparently I got the older one with my project truck.

Is there anyone in the local area that would have a fairly clean EEC tank they would be willing to trade for the older non-EEC one?

I got a fairly clean gas tank out of a 72 C20 that I was trying to sell for cheap. From what I understand it should be an EEC tank, but I don't know how you tell the difference. Can you state how to tell non-EEC from EEC so that I can confirm either way? I'm located in San Diego. I'm not interest in a trade, but was looking to get $40 or so for the tank.

this thread shows an EEC tank

note the vent line on the filler neck. there's also a vent lint on the top left side as well.

here's a replacement tank that shows where the vent lines are

Turns out my tank is a non-EEC. Sorry I couldn't help you out.

You can use a non EEC tank. Just make sure you have a vented gas cap.

Frank, thanks for the offer but it looks like Shortstep will bring one with him when he comes up to pick up a rear end he bought from me.

Sounds good Tremayne, let me know when you are in the area. I'm heading up to Oregon this weekend to visit family and to bring my daughter back down here (she's been up with the grandparents for a few weeks - how fun for a 6yr old). I'll get back on 9-2. If you want to pick up while I'm gone call, PM or text me and I'll make arrangements. Thanks!!

thanks guys,
jeff
