That is worse than the trucks up here in the rust belt. I see a lot of good parts though...

Re: Farm Truck found in Fort Lauderdale, Fl.

Looks like it may have been a 69 cst truck. Thats a fixer-upper by minnesota standards! (not quite) Grab that headliner and valve covers and any other maroon interior parts that can be saved. 1 year only interior color...

Re: Farm Truck found in Fort Lauderdale, Fl.

Toomuchstuff you are right 69 cst and the headliner was in ok shape , has a decent set of bucket seats.

I'm diggin those valve covers! Gotta love that salt air. My heart Doctor just put me on a low sodium diet after my heart scare at the end of last month, too bad someone didn't do the same for that truck.

Wow, was it sitting at the bottom of the Everglades?

Re: Farm Truck found in Fort Lauderdale, Fl.

The back yard it was pulled from looked like the everglades.Took two one ton trucks to pull it out of the yard.

WOW!!!!!
Any sign of Jimmy Hoffa?!?!?!?!

Re: Farm Truck found in Fort Lauderdale, Fl.

Today I was pulling the rear window out of the truck and I kept think was don't cut yourself rust was everywhere!Every old car or truck that I bought that had Ziebart rust protection were only good for parts cars I swear this stuff rusted the cars out faster.
I didn't find Jimmy Hoffa but it smelled like there was a dead dog in there.
The front and rear window trim also paint divider trim were in perfect shape I have never seen nicer trim pieces.

It's got an un-cut dash-big bonus. Lots of good parts still.

How hard is it to get dash out, going to scrap yard in a few days.

Re: Farm Truck found in Fort Lauderdale, Fl.

Don't know how hard it is. I've seen them already cut out on the classified section to use as a patch panel. Maybe ask one of the sellers.

I see lots of good parts on your truck if you are interested in doing part outs. Don't haul it all away. Take out all the interior parts, brackets on engine, door handles, ash tray, gas tank, rad support, grille etc. Lots of small stuff you can sell if you're willing to put the time in to remove it and wait for people to buy it.

Did the front clip just fall off? Musta been a surfer's truck. I spent one fall/winter in Jensen Beach. I started out with a shiny blue truck, ended up with faded paint and every nick, chip,or scratch surface rusted. Quick patina

Sure does look like "Farm Truck". Especially with the front end raised up

Re: Farm Truck found in Fort Lauderdale, Fl.

I bought a used car back in the 80's and the first place it started rusting is where they drilled the holes for rust proofing.

It’s possible that farm chemicals contributed to this truck's demise along with the salt air.

Re: Farm Truck found in Fort Lauderdale, Fl.

They probably put the undercoating on after the rust already started and simply trapped the salt, moisture, and metal eaters under the coating. I moved to Satellite beach with a beautiful, '60 Chevy two door hardtop, and in spite of hosing off the salt laden dew every single morning, and washing and waxing constantly, it still took a complete redo when I got out of FL.
