Can this fitting be removed??
3 Attachment(s)
I am running AN lines for my trans cooler to the radiator and I am trying to find out if the fittings that are on my radiator can be removed. By the looks of it I should be able unscrew the fitting with a 1 1/4" socket but I don't want to screw up the radiator. Has anyone else done this?

NO!
That is the transmission cooler. You have to have the tank off to remove that. |
Re: Can this fitting be removed??
you should b able to find an fittings that screw into that fitting to use your an type lines

Re: Can this fitting be removed??
While in theory you might be able to desolder them, don't. There are plenty of pipe to AN adapters out there. Probably as cheap as the fitting you'd need to install in the trans cooler if you even could.

There are fittings available that adapt the -AN lines to standard flare fittings. Gary |

Thanks for the help. I didn't think that fitting was meant to come off and glad I didn't try!

I took this route. I bought a aluminum transcooler and mouted it to the frame and ran AN lines to it from the TH400. Plugged the ones in the radiator.
I am almost done with the truck now, it was nice having these pics before the cab was on the frame to share. |
