Tucking sport bumper
I am thinking about moving the bumper closer in. Does anyone have any experience moving it. I have the correct brackets, just thinking about drilling new holes and moving it in some. Any one have problems with this or experience?

Re: Tucking sport bumper
Just got the same bumper not long ago, on the longbeds you have the extra frame length to move the brackets foward, on the swb the shackles are in the way to move up, I was considering cutting my brackets and re-welding them together.

Re: Tucking sport bumper
I tucked mine as close as I dared.

You should sell those if they aren't already on the market.
Great idea and looks nicely made! |

Re: Tucking sport bumper
Thanks for the kind words.
There are only four bolts holding it to the frame (two vertical, behind the square tube) I've been meaning to finish brackets out to the outer four bolts of the bumper, but haven't gotten to it yet. I haven't decided if they will bolted or be welded to the hitch. I really just needed the license plate and some way to pull my trailer right away. Underside/backside is like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...ps7aa35785.jpg |
Re: Tucking sport bumper
I'd like to drill the holes to move mine in before I put her back together. It's currently just a bare chassis. Does anyone know how far up the bracket needs to be moved to tuck it in? Or even if you know how much space is there originally to work with..
Thanks, |
Re: Tucking sport bumper
does the tailgate hit the bumper ?

Re: Tucking sport bumper
There is the thickness of corrugated cardboard between the bumper and the tailgate (that's what I used to space it).

Re: Tucking sport bumper
