1964 SWB C-10 Fleetside
5 Attachment(s)
I thought I would post some pictures of my friends project. We have been working on doing a total nut and bolt restoration on this truck. He wanted to buy it for 27 years but the owner would not part with it. It sat because it had an engine fire on a 327 which was in it when he bought it. He purchased this Powerpack 327 from an original 68,000 mile Impala wagon. We took the truck parts to powder coating and rebuilt all the original components. We are still looking for a few OEM parts like a Power Brake unit, A fan and duct assembly for a factory cool pack AC system, and a few small parts. He has put this together as the parts come in. I have helped with some mechanical tasks and our friend Ray from United Auto is painting the parts. He also made the cab a big window cab.99% of the truck is factory GM parts.

Re: 1964 SWB C-10 Fleetside
Chris has put a lot of time into each part. He has a pretty nice garage and him and his wiener dog practically live out there.

Where did the new firewall insulation pad come from? It appears to be original style. Wondering how it fits.

Re: 1964 SWB C-10 Fleetside
He got it from the Truck Shop in Orange CA. He has not put it in since the cab is still in the shop but it looks pretty good. I installed one in a Chevelle from OPGI and it was rubber and fit terribly but this one is a pretty good repop.

Re: 1964 SWB C-10 Fleetside
Yes 65 C20. I have read that the rubber ones were not that great. I put a new one in my 66 C10 that was made from abs plastic with a grain texture fit great it came from Chevy Duty back in 1995 still looks new.
