10 bolt rear end
Maybe someone can help me. I have a 67 GMC 3/4 ton with an 8 lug leaf spring rear end. I am trying to convert the 8 lug to a 5 lug and was wondering if a chevy 10 bolt out of a 75 Impala will fit? I know ill have to do some mods to keep the leafs, please help.

Did you already convert the front to five lug, i dont recall if any 12 bolts were in five lug in 1971-72 or that be the straight forward swap. idk if the with of the 8 bolt would span across the leafs:uhmk:

71&72 12 bolt would have a 5 lug pattern

I have not switched the front yet to a 5 lug, I will be tho. Im working my way from the back to the front. The reason I was going to fo with 10 bolt from the impala is because its out of my buddies car which came from texas so the rear end is really clean. I believe it will fit it seems to be 2 1/2" longer than my 10 bolt 8 lug whixh shouldnt be a big deal was just looking for some clarification..

When it comes to doing the front end does anyone know if the upper and lower control arms are different between the 3/4 ton and 1/2 ton? thanks

Does anyone know the answer to this? Ive scraped the idea of the rearend from the Impala. I am currently looking for proper rearend for the truck. Does anyone on here have a working 10 or 12 bolt 5 or 6 lug rearend for sale? Thanks

be careful with that request. You're dancing on board rules there. I'd take a tape measure and check backing plate to backing plate width before hitting the junk yards. Also keep in mind the spring center to center width and axle tube diameter as well as wheel cylinder bore and U joint size |

I dont see why it wouldnt work just by swapping the leaf spring saddles and finding the right u joint. It wont be nearly as strong though.
