AC Question (s)
I have a project that I am doing. It did not have AC. I am putting AC In it. I took parts from an AC truck. What I do not have is the wiring that goes to the compressor. If I were to add that wire where do the wires go to ? Any help would be great, pictures are even better. Second question, what type of compressor can I use since it had none? What would I need to install it?
Thanks, John |
Re: AC Question (s)
Mods, Could you please move this to Electrical for me.
Thanks John |
Re: AC Question (s)
I'm doing the same thing with my CUCV Blazer. I'm using the long A6 compressor (84 and earlier) and slowly piecing the parts together to complete.
If you do a search there are a few here who have done it too. |
Re: AC Question (s)
The compressor clutch wire should be run from the Low pressure cutoff switch.
The wiring manuals for all the CK RV squares from 73-91 are in my signature. |
Re: AC Question (s)
Go here for installing removed components. A/C for 73-87 trucks.
Ditch the stock compressors for a Saden 508. You'll need new hoses. R134 is a smaller particle than R12. Over time, R134 will leach out of R12 hoses. R134 hoses have a plastic barrier between outter and inner walls. A cross flow condensor is also needed. O'riellys carries cross flow condensors for our trucks. Wiring is switch->low pressure switch->high pressure switch->clutch-> to good ground. The pressure switches are in series to cut power. |
