Fleetside molding install

I'm installing the fleetside molding on my 64 tomorrow. Using the existing holes. I noticed there is one clip different on the front fender molding, it's black and slides into the molding. Does it go closest to the door? Should I start front to back, vise versa, or with the doors? Any tips on install from someone who has done it would be appreciated.

I'm in the same boat, but no holes. I bought a full set of clips. Please, when you get it figured out, take pics and show us where everything goes.

Gotta be someone with a few tips? Try the quad burger at Erv's? Seabiscuit in the third?

The hole closest to door uses one of the push in type mounts because you can't get behind the fender to install the speed nut. All the other clips for the fenders are the ones with speed nuts. I found this out after loosening up my fenders to get the nut on the one side of my truck.

Thanks. that's what I thought. That one clip is offset so I'll have to figure out which way it goes in before I do the door molding otherwise they won't line up. That's why I think I should do the door first or start from the rear.

So, molding installed. Not a hard job but a pain in the ass. I would suggest buying molding made in the US if possible. The kit from LMC is made in Taiwan. It looks good but the quality isn't 100 percent. The whole install is pretty much a guessing game because there are no instructions included. The clips are offset so you have to figure out which way they go. I think they would work both ways as long as you do them all the same, it would just put the molding at a different height. Also, the clips have rubber pads on them and nowhere does it tell you whether the pads go in the grooves or not. I put them in but it was very tight and a major hassle but the molding fits tighter. Hope this helps.

The MAR-K moulding is much better quality. Made in Okie City, USA.
