Interior questions
 

Hey guys,

Great forum ! I am new here and I just picked up a 79 Chevy SWB Silverado a few weeks ago and am looking for some interior pieces in light or medium blue. I have looked on some websites and thru some catalogs and it seems that nobody is selling the correct pattern seat covers for my model year. Is this true or am I just not finding the right vendor ?

Also I could use some door panels as someone has cut holes in mine for speakers. The truck has power windows & locks. Does anyone reproduce the correct door panels in the correct color ?

Any help would be much appreciated

My seats are vinyl and the local upholster nailed it.

LMC now has silverado panels and trim, I ordered a set and they are dark blue.

Thanks for the reply. I saw that LMC sold them but, I thought they advertised that they were not factory correct and was what they had come up with though in the pics. in the catalog they looked correct to me. If I bought those I guess I could dye them to my color blue ??

What manufacturer would you guys recommend for the dye ? SEM or ?

My seat cover has been changed and has the cloth inserts for the driver and passenger with the vinyl in the middle so I don't really have anything to show an upholstery shop unless I could get a picture of one somewhere.

I bought some blue interior parts for my 83 from LMC. I was disappointed because originally the truck had a medium blue interior and the LMC stuff was a very dark blue.

I'm looking for some parts for my 77 dually and might hold up because I doubt the red will be the same color i'm looking for.

You're not talking about this color/pattern are you?

That is a common 1979 seat cover style - but it's for the Custom Deluxe trim level. I doubt it was offered at the Silverado level.

But, if it is what you are looking for - bump this. I might know of a source for OEM material.

Check your RPO sticker.

The RPO is 25V and the description is, "VDD1 Blue Vinyl Bench".

My RPO is 25W and the description is "XDD1" Blue Vinyl Bench". Probably the difference in Silverado verses the Custom Deluxe.

I was thinking of ordering the door panels in black from LMC and painting them to match my interior in the light blue. I went to my local auto paint store today and they didn't have anything in SEM aerosol cans my color but, said that they could mix me up a pint for $80. Ouch.... I may go that route if I can't come up with anything else. I would really like to find a nice clean used set that excepts the Silverado trim with power windows and locks.
