Well Ya'll . lol. I didnt get in till 10 last night so I didnt get a chance for updates.

The track was a little tricky all weekend. Cold mornings made for slippery track conditions on my early runs each day. I decided after struggling Friday I was writing off those passes and starting over Saturday. Everyone was saying the left lane was junk, so I decided I better make a hit in to find out. That was a ride! I was looking at a car door when it came off the throttle stop. I rode it out staying loose until I got in high gear. I went a 10.893 at only 146 but it was a junk pass anyway. Next pass and the last one before Sunday morning eliminations. I do my burnout and start going through my normal staging routine but I hear something. Im telling myself (Ive heard that before). It was a chirping noise, I revved the motor a little trying to figure it out then shut it off. Sounds like a bad lifter! We towed back to the trailer and started checking valve lash. Then I found the culprit, It was the #6 intake lifter. I was able to fish it out and look at it. The roller was chewed up but intact. I looked at the lobe the best I could and it looked bad but had no flat spots. I got a used pair of lifters out and after about two hours of fishing them in there It was put back together. I came to race and decided not to worry about saving the cam.

On to Sunday morning first round. I pull onto the track do my burnout and stage. I see the green light flicker! I leave the starting line and the whole tree looks nuts when I go by. It showed I lost on the timeslip but the whole thing didnt make sense. That called for a rerun and told me to get back to lanes. But wait the truck is way hotter than normal (why I dont know). So I thrash to cool it down and make my back. On the rerun I was .009 to my opponents .006 on the tree. I ran him down and cut the stripe in on the brakes and whomping the gas for a win margin of .006.(ok I feel better now) Onto second round I ran Val Harmon who was .047 to my .015 on the tree. For some reason my 60 ft went to crap. He paced me and we both went through at 10.95 at 147. He got the stripe and the win by.007. If I wouldnt have tapped the brake it would have been mine. He went on to runner up to one of our guys Don Snow. (shoulda been me lol)

All in all It was a fun weekend. There was no pressure of a points chase for me. I will be pulling the motor out soon and hopefully get a little more power out of it. Its game on come March I will start a full season run.
