If you are selling these you need to put this post in the classified section wih the price of each one. Meanwhile if this turns into a buying and selling thread here it will be locked and deleted.. It is quite a collection .where did you get them all?

Re: Bowtie

got some off ebay and some off trucks i parted, I have had a few more but they were not as nice as these. I purchased the silver one to put on my truck just haven't gotten around to it yet. I am thinking about painting one of the less nice ones just haven't gotten around to it.

replying that you will let him know if you do not like it, is encouraging sales. I had to edit that out being Bob just posted that this can not turn into an ad thread. Sorry, I hate technicalities.

Nice collection! I figured out a way to restore them back to original condition after I saw a NOS one go for $350 on ebay. What I did was buy a cheap faded one with good chrome and then drilled out the rivets on the back to pop the center bowtie out. Then I sanded it to get the brushed finish back and had it re-anodized for $80. I did 2 since it was $80 for any quantity. Only problem was they anodized them a little duller than I would of liked but I just had my friends body shop clear coat them and it turned out perfect. I will try and get a picture later.

would like to see the finished product!!! I am wanting to strip the gold off one and see what I can do with it. The NOS ones go high on ebay, I watched one go for 500 last year. I guess that I got so many trying to get a nice one for my truck, I have swaped them out several times and I keep finding nicer ones.

Ya, I was thinking about buying all the $20 ones on ebay and getting them re-anodized and then selling them, but after I saw how much work it takes sanding them to make it look good once they are anodized it just wasn't worth it. The second one they did for me I didn't sand it I just gave it to them to strip and anodize and it didn't turn out to good. I will take a picture of it when I get home tonight. It turned out really good!

Try to find a local anodizing company who can do it. We have a steel fab buisness and know of many anodizer's but most of them didn't have the right gold anodizing. Turns out the closest one to me had the right color. When I told them I wanted a little darker shade than the sample they had I guess they thought I meant a satin finish. The clear coat fixed that problem though and also will protect it.

Here is the finished product. I will put an add up in the classifieds now that I am a premium member and anybody that wants to can send me their 81-87 chevy bowtie emblem and I will restore it for you.

This one looked pretty bad before.
