air ride for blazer
 

thinking about bagging my 80 blazer....the rear is a flip kit now...that has to be taken out for air ride?...is a 4 link set up the best alternative?

this is a daily driver so want to figure out the best value.

Not many people post on here but I'm in the same boat. It appears that a parallel 4 llink isthe best way to ggo because u get the most travel with the least amount t of floor alteration. If someone knows better feel free to chime In

depends on what you are planning on doing..

parallel 4 link is ok but the question is how are you going to keep the side to side from moving? If you are going to use a panhard bar then you will need a long bar to eliminate side to side motion of the axle. If you have a short bar and lots of travel then you will get a lot of movement in the axle. Now if you are going to do a watts link you get no side to side movement and you can get a decent amount of lift as well..

The other option is a triangulated 4 link. With the triangulated link the angled bars eliminate the side to side movement of the axle just link a watts link does but with only 4 bars.

What ever you do make sure the bars go forward and work with whatever you have. Also between a 4 link versus the leafs. I always suggest using bars because you won't have issues with your pinion.

Everybody has their own opinion as to which one is best, just have weigh out your options. A 2-link is very cheap and gets you plenty of lift. , but either a watts link or a panhard hard is needed. A 4-link is slightly better, but you have to go bag over axle which doesn't give you very much lift and a panhard bar or watts link is still recommended. Then there's triangulated 4-link which eliminates the panhard bar or watts link. Those are just the basic systems. This OP is for a Blazer, so you need to also keep in mind how much of the bed you want to cut...back seat issues, etc.

I say do an AOL setup and keep the stock floor
You won't lay frame but you can get it pretty low.
