Trading exhaust pictures
I figured before I ask a few exhaust routing questions over in the 67-72 forum, I'll post some pictures of my '85 Blazer exhaust routing. I don't see the Y-pipe cross under the oil pan often, pretty much never actually, so maybe this will get some interests. Hopefully a fair trade for my next thread :D
Edelbrock shorties to 2.5" Y pipe/ 3" FM collector/ CAT/ and through a FM 50 series. All tucked above the frame rail, for max off road longevity. And yes, I rebuilt the engine at some point after these pictures and ended up having to remake the crossover. :( http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p...uild/12006.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p...uild/12007.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p...uild/12009.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p...uild/12010.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p...pscb992e37.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps9ddc78a5.jpg |
Re: Trading exhaust pictures
That's a lot of nice unnecessarywork for a single exhaust. I wonder why it has to be a single exhaust on an off road vehicle? I must say I have never seen another one like it.

1) CA smog requires exhaust systems to remain in the same location as factory. They will see one heat shield for the CAT and one shield for the muffler. 2) I clocked my transfer-case up (only in the custom crossmember picture you can see it). With the T-case turned up, there is no room to run any size tubing next to it on the passenger side. :) |
Re: Trading exhaust pictures
Here's a good picture of the Y pipe after redoing it for the new oil pan. I know it looks close to the axle, but it's not. The axle is 1.5" forward also. Unless I jump the truck, break my shock hoops and shocks on the landing, maybe it will hit. Survived a week in Moab and local rock climbing. I was concerned long ago, not anymore :D
