K20 weight
I am in the middle of a move from my divorce, and as I was scraping stuff I can not take. I got my truck weighed.
It weighed 5140 pounds with me, my son, and a heavy tool box with a few things in it. Or roughly 4800 pounds. I have only one side saddle since I am going to do the blazer tank swap soon which was full. Or almost 500 pounds lighter then when I got it as a C20. If I got crazy with putting the truck on a diet, and killed my credit rating. I could almost have a 4000 pound 4x4. |
Re: K20 weight
When I go to the dump and weigh out my 83 C20 empty with me in the truck, I get 5660 lbs.

Re: K20 weight
Maybe I should try a different scale to average out

Re: K20 weight
TC and front diff are heavy.
Is there a question implied, or just venting? |
Re: K20 weight
Much heavier than I thought. That might account for my 11.25 average MPG.

Re: K20 weight
Ziegelsteinfaust, personally I'd question the accuracy of the scale. If you really want to know, a truck scale used for DOT would be much more accurate. Used to see them in truck stops so the big rigs wouldn't get into trouble. (something else to consider, the scales may be accurate within a "range" like a torque wrench.)
My K-20 used to vary with different scales. 5800-6200 lbs, that was with a bolted on steel (no)dump bed and the plow gear. |
Re: K20 weight
I will eventually hit up a cat scale, but the scale is fairly accurate. As I have friends who taken known weighted vehicles across it, and it was with in a margin of error.
