what problem are you having?

My suburban has a solenoid issue, a new starter would fix it but I'm going a cheaper route. If it generates excessive heat by actuating for too long it won't engage the starter until it cools. I'm installing a ford solenoid on the frame rail and bypassing the GM one on the starter. $20 for a solenoid is cheaper than $100 for a new starter.

I had to do the same. Not only on my Suburban but also my Chevelle. Summit sells the kit. It's referred to as heat soak. But this may not be your problem.

I had heat soak issues. The remote solenoid solved my problems. I also decided to install a high performance mini starter. But I will say - the remote solenoid was the solution in my case. I have a 454, GM manifolds (no headers)....
