pinion/axle angle

Swapping in 3rd gen Camaro rear, the question is to get close to what I need for pinion angle - If I level the spring mounting pads how much angle should the pinion have?( as close as I can tell it s/b about 8-10 degrees ?)
Thanks

Re: pinion/axle angle

Normal engine tilt will be about 4 degrees down (with a level frame). If that's what you have, then match it with 4 degrees up at the pinion. So, check the engine first.
