Check the assembly manual. The location varies depending on your equipment. Like the AUX battery tray moves it, maybe other stuff does too. So if original is important, don't just do what the next C10 you see did, find out the right setup for your equipment.

Dave makes a good point.

I'm not sure when dual horns became available nor, if when they became available, they were an option or part of the higher trim packages. For example, my 69 CST only came with a low note horn mounted on the core support. There wasn't even a mounting provision for a high note horn. So, it's possible that your truck is original with only a low note horn on the core support. Perhaps someone can clarify that.

Below is a picture (sorry, the horns seem to blend in a bit... added 2nd pic) with the later core support now on my truck with both horns in the proper locations. The high note is mounted below the headlight to a nut welded to the core support. Don't let the location of the washer bottle throw you. It is in the original location. I believe it was relocated to the fender later in the 69 model year.

i'm not looking to go concourse original just in the general area. i assume that it should have had 2 horns? if i see 2 or 3 c10 with the same configuration the i will assume that is how most were. it has a 402 and no aux batt tray.. thanks for your reply though

Additional info.

I did find info saying that dual horns were included with Custom Deluxe and up trim packages in 1971.

Very sweet looking long bed!!

Went out and looked at mine, I am missing the horn on the upright by the radiator, and a closer look I see where wire is cut on the plug to the horn I do have. I assume the cut wire went to the horn that is missing. I hav said this before... I hate when people cut wires!!! Wonder how hard it will be to find a horn bracket to hold the missing horn......

Not an original. I think I bought it in the 80s. It is a Firestone Wide Oval though. However, here's a picture of one of the originals. A General Jumbo Power-Jet. Not too hard to tell it was hanging under the bed as the spare for many Wisconsin winters.

Thanks for the compliment.

The original horns have the brackets attached. The low note horn (may or may not have an L on it, usually not) would have been on the core support. The high note horn (I've never seen one without a H on it) should be under the headlight. If your high is missing, good luck finding one that works. I've pulled several from junk trucks that didn't work. There is a jumper wire that connects the two as shown in my first picture in post 3.
