GMC Grille Differences

Hi All,
Are GMC grilles all the same from 47-54? Mine is missing and I need a new or used one. Preferably not chrome but chrome would be ok if painted isn't available. Can anyone shed light on this for me? Thanks, Rick

edit: Forgot to mention that my GMC is a 54

No they are not the same. 47-48 are different and also had additional bracing for them. If I understand correctly 49-55.1 inserts are interchangable.

on a '54 the repops will fit with no modification at all. It is the Grille surround that is VERY hard to find in good shape 54-55 1st have what look like wings under the headlights

All the big guys sell them. You will find you pay more $$$ for all GMC stuff compared to Chevy
