Carb adapters

Anyone have any luck adapting a 2 barrel carb to a 1 barrel intake?
My engine is a 230

I am about to start my install this week. I have a 230 and bought all my stuff from Langdon Stovebolt. I am mounting the progressive weber 2bbl. Adapter was $17.

I've got a buddy who put an S&S carb from a Harley on his 250. Runs great.
