New member with some questions

Hi this my first post and have been lurking for sometime. I am interested in doing a AD 3100 s10 swap v8/bagged. I have a question. I am looking at a '91 s10 with a v8 400sbc 700r4 trans and it's already bagged, reg cab long box. I this going to be usable? I guess my main concern is going to be the rear lining up in the wheel well and it's limited adjustability. Is there anything else I should be concerned about? I just like this option because all the hard and expensive stuff is already done.
Thanks and love all the info that's on this site.
Shane

I had to move my engine back 5" when I did my swap

IMHO i'd stick with the stock frame GM did all the hard work with mounts and so on. Just look online at all the junk and failed attempts at s10 swaps. Its much easier to upgrade the stock frame to what you need. Like I said just my thoughts and good luck with your build and we like lots of pics!

When doing this does everyone just get a custom drive shaft made?

Worst case it doesent line up then at least I have all the parts then just buy another stock frame for a couple hundred buck and start fresh. This was my thinking anyway.

Sure, or modify a stock drive shaft to work.

There have been lot's of trucks built with the S10 chassis. You've probably noticed good information here for doing so.

And Welcome!

it is only about $50 to shorten the original S10 drive shaft. As far as wheel base goes, there is a lot of info about the stock trucks having the rear axel 1" too far forward (if my memory serves... 116" wheelbase) The S10 that you have should have a wheelbase of 117" which makes it perfect.

Read this then decide if you want to do it.
