eaton HO brakes

My 69' C20 is in dire need of a rear brake job. It has an eaton ho52 with 11x2-3/4" brakes. Considering how difficult it is to locate usable drums, I started looking for a parts axle prior to tearing apart my rear axle assuming the drums were beyond spec. I located an eaton in pieces with 5.13s, a no-spin:metal:, and usable 12x2 drums. I have read through all the eaton threads I can find on this board, but have not seen mention of 12x2 brakes. What years and/or models did this size brake come on? Is the taller 12x2" or the wider 11x2-3/4" rated to stop more? Thanks in advance.

Hello neighbor. I'm not sure if the difference reflects that between an HO52 vs an HO72, which I thought had larger brakes and was used for one ton (C30) applications. Would either of these NAPA drums work?:

I know Vintage windmills deals with a lot of these axles... I would contact him for some advice too. He would be able to provide first hand experience and maybe some tips.

Centric 122.66024 drums will do the job.

I appreciate the part numbers and will follow up. I am curious though - the first thing you read from just about everyone about the eaton rear is "parts are expensive, drums and R&P are hard to get - swap in a corporate 14b". The Centric 122.66024 seem widely available and are not too outrageous pricewise. What am I missing?

I believe there is a thread where it is said "they don't fit"

<- from a guy who, now, has a 14 bolt

Here's a good thread regarding the drums.

I put 122.66024's on mine last April with no problems at all, everything fit as it should. The factory had an issue with the bolt hole size on this non-demountable type drum for a while but Centric fixed it.
