2005 Tahoe heater smoking!

Fan control works from 1-4 settings but when you go to 5 the fan stops blowing and smoke comes from under passenger side dash. It happened once but I don't want to do it again even to find where it is. Anybody have any ideas?

blower resistor /wiring harness gm has an update wiring harness and resirtor out

There is an extended warranty on those. 10 year, 150k. Hopefully you didn't have to pay.
