1967 GMC 3 speed
I have a 1966 C-10 with a 3 speed , It does not have syncros in 1St gear. I have a 1967 or 68 3 speed from a GMC do they have 1St gear Syncros?

Re: 1967 GMC 3 speed
Your '66 will have a small side cover with 5 bolts. The '67 - up Syncro 3spd Saginaw will have a larger side cover with 7 bolts.

Re: 1967 GMC 3 speed
Of all things don't grind them. They were made to come to a stop before shifting to low.
You can "double clutch" & shift to 1st. Push the clutch in & shift to neutral. Let the clutch out & rev the engine to the speed it will be going when you complete the shift. Put the clutch in & complete the shift to 1st. It will be easy & automatic when you catch on to it. It will really impress people riding with you. |

I will have to see how many bolts the side cover has. Thanks for the information.

Re: 1967 GMC 3 speed
The full synchro 3 speed did not become standard equipment on pickups till '69, so no guarantee you'll find them on '67 and '68's unless it was ordered as a extra cost option.
