Power steering/ V8 swap questions

Ok I have a 1950 3100 and I'm in the process of doing a v8 swap to a 350. My question is will doing a power steering conversion leave me with enough space between the steering box and the engine for a set of block hugger headers to fit. As of right now I have about 1 inch of space there and no headers will work. Any experience with power steering conversions is appreciated.

Short answer is either the engine is offset to passenger side from center or steering column moved away from center line to gain clearance. A search using the box above, set to this site, looking for AD v8 steering should find lots of build threads with info.

Agrass, what are you going to use for a power steering system? I had this same exact problem with my little '52 truck. I used a power steering setup out of a mid-1970's blazer, and then discovered that I didn't really have any room for headers. I ended up going with a set of Tru-Ram manifolds from Speedway (I posted the link below), and they worked pretty good. You are right though, there isn't a lot of clearance.
