New rear tank, bed sill need notch over it?

Changed tank on '71 C10 LWB stepside, put in blazer tank from Brother's. Tank sits higher than frame (about 1 1/2" ), so do I have to notch last two bed-sills where it goes over tank?

Yes, I was told it either needs to be notched or removed. Brothers actually has a write up on install one into a truck.
