1979 gmc 30 cab replace
 

I have a 1979 GMC 1 ton dump truck. The underside of cab is very rusty around the mounts. My question is what year's of truck would fit on mine if I was to just replace the cab

The closest match would be from 1980, 1979, and maybe from 1978. Generically 73-87 would fit, but there are somewhat small issues to deal with on other years.

Thanks, Im looking for pretty much a bolt on replacement. Dont want to do any modifications.

Anything will fit. If your compitent enough to swap cabs you should be able to make a few small adjustments here and there.

Yes, anything will fit, but you dont have to deal with the serial plate issue in the door jamb on the early cabs and dont have to deal with the the different stuff on the cowl for the front sheetmetal.
